Secret Santa

Like every year since 1993, Secret Santa and Mrs. Claus were busy this December.  Santa's Elves Lori, Janet, Tim, Mike, and Liz ably assisted. Before delivering the bountiful surprises to three GCTE neighborhood families on December 24th, children's gifts were bought and wrapped, food purchased, donated, and gathered.  Many thanks to all who participated and contributed.

Holiday Lights

Every year GCTENA awards prizes and bragging rights to neighborhood residents who displayed the best holiday lights. For 2011, the top winner was Christopher Singh on Mangrum; second best, Juanita Gay on Cromwell; and third place to Scott Nelson on Golf View Drive.  Congratulations to all and much thanks to everyone who brightened up the neighborhood this December. And, a shout-out to judge Tim Mendonsa and crew.

Neighborhood Services Bi-Weekly Tidbits

From the City of Sacramento, Parks and Recreation Department:

Neighborhood Services bridges and engages Sacramento’s diverse residents with resources to revitalize, maintain and promote healthy communities.
We believe a great neighborhood means neighbors knowing each other and having access to available resources. We look to facilitate dialogue and create collaboration opportunities among neighborhood groups, City officials, City departments, and other community stakeholders.

Welcome from Dr. Ernest Lehr, GCTENA Chair

Councilmember Jay Schenirer, Harkness Principal Eric Chapman, GCTENA Chair Ernie Lehr at Loren Reed's National Night Out event.

Welcome to the Golf Course Terrace Estates Neighborhood Association's web site, Neighborhood News.  We serve 1,700 homes in the area just south of Executive Airport and Bing Maloney Golf Course.  The Association is now about 20 years old and has many achievements to its credit.  Most significant is the reputation for action on behalf of our residents.  As a result, our neighborhood is an exceptional place to live; we feel safe and are willing to invest in our community.  Again, welcome to our neighborhood.
